Duties: Provide public and technical services, instruction, and collection development in postsecondary

educational institutions and oversee library automation in college and university libraries

Salary Range: $28,900 to $70,200

Prerequisites:

Education or Training—Master of Library Science (M.L.S) degree or Master of Library and Information

Science (M.L.I.S.) required; additional master’s degree in some specialty area is recommended; Academic

Librarians who want to teach or hold top administrative positions should have a Ph.D. in library or information science

Experience—Solid experience with computers and some experience in teaching will prove to be helpful
